Massage Therapy – works with soft tissue including muscles, tendons and ligaments. Massage therapy increases the circulation of areas that are hypertonic. Massage Therapy assesses the soft tissue and joints of the body to help in prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue.  By working hands on, directly on the muscle and soft tissue massage therapists are able to develop, maintain, rehabiliate and restore function as well as relieve pain. Some conditions that benefit from massage therapy include: repetitive strain, sports injuries, back and neck pain, stress as well as many others.

Manual Osteopathy- Osteopathy has a global approach; looking at the body as a unit, instead of treating only symptom areas. The philosophy is that when one part of the body is affected by injury or imbalance, the entire body is also affected.  This global-body approach helps the body’s innate ability to heal itself.   Osteopathic manual treatment reduces pain and improves circulation and function of the body, by unlocking restrictions, decreasing tensions or strain in the muscle, fascia, joints and organs. The gentle techniques guide and re-educate the body’s neuropathways for proper function. Attention to musculoskeletal, visceral and craniosacral restrictions are the focus within treatments. Patients will receive the tools needed to reduce the re-occurrence of an injury and enable optimum function and health. Manual osteopathy is a drug-less approach to healing the body.

Counselling Services – The trauma psychotherapy provided includes psychoeducation, such as learning about the impact of trauma, strengthening resources and copings strategies, building safety in the therapeutic relationship, processing traumatic events and integrating new understanding and experiences into daily life. It is client-centred, strengths based and collaborative approach which may include story telling, reflection, art, drawing, movement, mindfulness and other sensory experiences in session. My style is mainly influenced by my training in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy and the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model of trauma interventions. These are both sensory based intervention models that use a variety of interventions influenced by the most up to date research inspired by treatments such a sensorimotor psychotherapy, polyvagal theory, Internal family systems, and somatic experiencing.
